Powell Gardens will begin our gradual reopening process with the follow precautions in place to ensure the health and safety of our visitors and staff.

  • All visitors will be required to reserve advance timed tickets online. Timed entry enables us to provide a contactless experience and regulate the number of visitors in the Gardens at any given time.

  • Hours will be limited to 10 a.m.–6 p.m., Wednesday–Sunday to ensure our custodial staff can maintain increased sanitization procedures. We will also be open on May 25 for Memorial Day.

  • No food or drink will be available for purchase. Visitors are encouraged to bring water, snacks, sunscreen and other necessary items for their visit. The East Lawn, peninsula, and other select areas are open to accommodate several groups while maintaining social distance and will be open for picnics and play.

  • All buildings will be closed, except for three public restrooms. Tram service will be suspended. The Byron Shutz Nature Trail and the Perennial Garden will be closed.

  • Visitors will travel along one-way paths. Select areas will be open for picnics.

  • Staff and other visitors will be in the Gardens during your visit. Please always maintain a six-foot distance from others.

  • Visitors are encouraged to follow CDC recommendations and practice social distancing. We’re relying on you to adhere to guidelines and behave responsibly so that we can remain open and serve our larger community during this challenging time.

The situation continues to evolve, and leadership will continue to meet frequently to monitor new developments and ensure that precautionary measures are adequate and appropriate.
