Wild Fermentation Class with Bo Brown

Join us for a workshop with renowned Ozark foraging author Bo Brown!
Learn the basics and confidence you need to explore and experiment with fermented foods!
Enjoy a presentation from Bo about what's needed to start making bacteria-rich, gut-enhancing fermented foods at home. Go with him on a short hike to learn about collecting wild greens, and make your own jar of fermented veggies and greens to take home!
What to Expect:
- We will be hiking in the woods, so please be prepared. You will likely come into contact with ticks and poison ivy.
- Recommended:
- Closed-toe shoes
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen
- Gloves
- The presentation and class will be indoors.
- You're welcome to bring your own pint or quart canning jar; we will have some on hand as well.
Bo Brown is the founder and director of First Earth Wilderness School and author of the Falcon Guides books Foraging the Ozarks and Foraging Central Grasslands. He has worked all over the U.S. and Belize as a songbird biologist since 1985, and has led courses on foraging, Stone Age wilderness survival, and nature education throughout the Midwest for over three decades. He also presents weekly foraging walks and primitive skills demonstrations at Johnny Morris's Dogwood Canyon Nature Park near Blue Eye, Missouri.
