Join Melissa Sisk of the Foraging Academy for a seasonal series of foraging walks at Powell Gardens. Each class explores the landscape as it changes through the year, learning to recognize edible and useful wild plants as they emerge, flower, and fade with the seasons. Rather than focusing on a fixed list of species, these walks invite participants to slow down, observe closely, and build real familiarity with the land. Together we’ll identify plants, talk about ecology and food traditions, and learn simple ways these often-overlooked plants have been used for generations.By returning through the seasons, participants begin to see the landscape differently. What first appears as weeds or background greenery reveals itself as a living pantry, medicine cabinet, and ecological teacher.
