The third Sunday of the month from April to June and August to October means Dog Days at Powell! Enjoy the Gardens with your furry friend!

  • All dogs are required to be properly immunized and remain on a leash.
  • Waiver needs to be signed upon entry at the Front Desk in the Visitor Center.
  • Dogs are not allowed inside of the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel.
  • Please pick up after your pup and dispose of waste properly.
  • Please use discretion where your dog urinates as many of our plants are sensitive to dog urine.

Jurassic Garden invites explorers of all ages to step into a land of dinosaurs and prehistoric plants. 

Encounter life-sized dinosaurs and discover the fascinating flora that once shared their world. Admission to Jurassic Garden includes interactive stations, educational displays, and hands on activities rooted in botanical science and adventure.

After a long winter, Powell Gardens welcomes Painted Garden!

Celebrate the joy and color spreading across the Gardens with inventive botanical displays, spring blooms, and works of art. Rooted in Kansas City’s art community with new work by Tyler Kimball (Monarch Glass Studio) and other artwork by local artists, Powell Gardens invites you to imagine the garden as a gallery this spring.

TICKET POLICY

By purchasing ticket(s) you understand and agree to the following: 

  • Online advanced purchase is recommended.
  • Upon arrival, have your eTickets ready to be scanned at the Visitor Center.
  • Your eTickets will display the time the Gardens open, and the time the Gardens close. You do not have to arrive at that time, however, last entry is 30 minutes prior to the Gardens closing. 
  • MEMBERS:
    • Members are not required to purchase admission tickets.
    • Please have your Member card ready to be scanned at the Visitor Center.
    • If individuals in your group are not covered by your membership, admission tickets can be purchased at this link or upon arrival. Online advanced purchase is recommended.
  • Tickets are non-refundable. Powell Gardens is an outdoor rain, snow, or shine experience.
  • Tickets are exchangeable. Tickets can be exchanged for any other General Admission date, including exhibitions. (Tickets cannot be exchanged for Festivals or Signature Events.) Email frontdesk@powellgardens.org with your Order #, your desired exchange date, and a valid call back phone number.
  • A $2.00 processing fee applies to each transaction.

  • Photography Waiver:
    • When visiting Powell Gardens, you enter an area where photography, audio, and video recordings may occur. By entering the premises, you consent to your image and likeness being used and published, without compensation, for advertising and promotional purposes. You voluntarily release Powell Gardens from any liability regarding any such publication, whether now known or hereafter devised, on account of such usage.   • Release of Liability:
    • Agreement to Follow Directions. I agree to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by employees, representatives or agents of Powell Gardens.
    • Assumption of the Risks and Release. I assume full responsibility for personal injury to myself and (if applicable) my family members, and further release and discharge Powell Gardens for injury, loss or damage arising out of my or my family's use of or presence upon the facilities of Powell Gardens, whether caused by the fault of myself, my family, Powell Gardens or other third parties.
    • Indemnification. I agree to indemnify and defend Powell Gardens against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs, which may in any way arise from my or my family's use of or presence upon the facilities of Powell Gardens.
