Did you know that there are approximately 14 different species of bats in Missouri? Do you know why bats are important to humans and why they are helpful in a garden? Join us for an afternoon to learn all about bats—what species we have in Missouri, what they eat, where they live, and why they are not scary! This experience includes construction of a plywood bat house kit (one per family group) that you can take home and install in your backyard to support our bat population. Each three-chamber bat house (with approved design by Bat Conservation International) is constructed using simple materials including a screwdriver, heavy duty staple gun, utility knife, paint, and a caulking gun. Best for family groups with children ages 8 and up. Children under the age of 12 must work with an adult at all times. COST: $85 per family (one kit per family) INSTRUCTORS: Megan Fletcher secretary, Chris Edmondson, Reporter and Savannah Penney, Vice President of The Wildlife Society of University Central Missouri.

Refund policy: Full refunds for those enrolled in classes, events or other programs will be given if the refund request is made seven days prior to the scheduled class or event date (see full refund policy)
